Sing when you’re stuck.

Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Acts 16:25

In prison, with their feet clamped in the iron stocks, they sang. When you choose joy, peace, and patience in slow or painful circumstance, you stand out. “The other prisoners were listening” because it was unusual. And there was something compelling about these guys—shamelessly hopeful and happy, despite the obvious injustice.

The rest of the prison experienced God because Paul and Silas had a moment-by-moment trusting experience of God, themselves.

If you find yourself stuck, stalled, oppressed, or imprisoned this week, try a song. Fight for the experience of God—even when you don’t feel like it.

Who do you know that needs encouragement today? Forward this along!
