Use what you have for more than just you.

Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 1 Peter 4:9

We recently stayed several days with friends who had a guest house. A lot of people who own large homes or guest houses have good intentions about using them and welcoming friends and family but they get so busy and consumed by their own plans that intention never becomes reality — not these friends.

These friends of ours had a young family staying with them the week before we arrived and an older couple arriving the night we left. I asked them about the usage and it was clear that the guest quarters were occupied more often than not—sometimes housing-struggling friends, single moms, or elderly family for months at a time.

Put hospitality and generosity on display by using what you’ve been given to bless others. It’s better this way. As we spread generosity, we increase our own joy.
