Suffering makes us stronger.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.
Romans 5:3-4

That says, “That which does not kill us makes us stronger.” And it’s true. Perhaps, even if it kill us.

For me, suffering has produced:

  • Awareness of my weakness
  • Hunger for God’s grace and peace
  • Sensitivity to others going through pain
  • Gratitude for the gifts I have
  • Optimism for a better future
  • Determination to persevere

I hope our struggles continue to produce these positive outcomes in our lives. Then, we’ll do whatever we can to embrace them and remember them, particularly when things take a turn toward “comfortable.”
