There are only 6 days left before Christmas!

Lights and Christmas have always gone together.
Lights on trees.
Lights on houses.
Lights on sweaters.
Lights on sweaters on dogs.

Christmas lights are everywhere. They are part of what makes the season so different and special.

And the lights have meaning. Most people might not think of it when they string their bulbs, but their lights are a symbol going back a long, long time.

For one, the Christmas story moved into full swing when the star (or comet, or whatever it was) moved through the sky, directing inspired astronomers to the young Jesus.

But, more than that, Jesus claimed to be Light, in the flesh.

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” – Jesus (John 8:12)

So when you look at lights, remember their significance. Where there is light, darkness bails. Dark can’t stay. Light punks the dark and sends it packing.

That’s been true since light was spoken into being. It’s been true since Light put on skin. And it’s still true today.

It’s true in your life. It’s true in your struggle. It’s true in your drama. It’s true in your dilemma. It’s true.

Enjoy the lights and invite the Light into the middle of your Christmas.
