There are only 8 days left before Christmas!

“Hope”

Hope is a major theme of Christmas. In reality, hope is a major theme of life. Many have said you can’t survive without hope. But Christmas has become the most “hope-filled” time of the year.

When Jesus was born, there had been a long break in the action, as far as Jews were concerned. There had been prophets of old and spiritual leaders interpreting the movements of God across human history. Then, quiet. It was like something was brewing below the surface.

Hundreds of years passed, then, an angel appeared to a teenage girl. Her name was Mary and her life changed forever.

She carried the fetus and infant Jesus to term and delivered him in an unclean space with animals as witnesses. Not ideal. Neither was her awkward engagement to Joseph, or trying to convince their family they hadn’t “done it,” and that this was “God’s baby.” It sounded as crazy then as it does today.

God is still whispering to you and me through the circumstance of Mary and Joseph.

“The blessings of this life will come in unexpected packages.”

“Don’t judge the situation based on first appearance.”

“Don’t be so concerned with your image that you miss your destiny.”

“Make sure your religious pride doesn’t blind you from my miracles.”

“Pay attention, even to the uninvited angels.”

“Push through the pain. Salvation is born through redemptive struggle.”

“Cling to hope… He’s coming your way!”

Is there something in there you need to cling to today?
