You can’t fight depression without expression.

Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Let’s distinguish between depression the noun and depressing the verb. There are some forms of depression that seem to require medication just to get to an even state and to have a fighting chance at dealing with issues and growing forward. But most forms of depression are the verb—where we depress, repress, and stuff our feelings. The more we depress the more depressed we become.

The only answer to that kind of depression is to express. When we express, we release the pressure and begin to heal the pain.

Cast your concerns on a God who cares — that starts, but doesn’t stop, when you’re alone. God shows himself through the support of loved ones, trusted friends, and good therapists/coaches.

Express and be less depressed.
