Think differently.

All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless. Ecclesiastes 2:23

A guy sitting near me at a coffee shop struck up a conversation with the barista. “I’m retired,” said that 30-something man. “I move every year, find enough work to live, embrace the people and culture of the place, and move on the next year.”

“Where to next?”

“Texas!”

The dude said that he retired from being a CPA after 10 years and committed to this nomadic path. Of course, he’s in his mid-30’s, alone, no kids, and may or may not be making a meaningful contribution in the world… however, he seemed genuinely passionate about his path.

He’s an example, not necessarily to emulate, but simply to spark a shift in thinking. What if…?

What if you questioned your assumptions about work? What if you challenged your thinking about “security,” or “normalcy,” or wealth, or “retirement?” What if you were brave and courageous and willing to risk for adventure and possibility. Especially if you’ve been listening to whispers within and it seems like you’re hearing something.

What if?
