“When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; He brought me into a spacious place. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” -Psalm 118:5-6

“What can mere mortals do to me?”

One of the best lines in the bible.

What if you and I thought like this? What if our mindset was so fixed on the hugeness of God, that human threats became laughable?

I mean, sure, we value people. We want to honor people and take the lives of others into account, always, but I’m talking about threats. People gossiping. People accusing, manipulating, planning harm. Those threats… those people.

The God of the universe—creator all living things—is with you, for you, and in you. You’re forgiven and free to be you. Eternity has already started and your soul is spoken for.

What can a mortal human do?

Seriously.

Smile and walk on… in the peace that’s already yours.
