Everybody needs a group.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another… Hebrews 10:24-25

Some mornings I work from a coffeeshop inside a fancy grocery store near our home. Free WiFi, the option of caffeination, and a dozen small tables with chairs create an easy environment for me to settle in for 2-3 hours of concentration.

I’m not the only one who feels that way. Most days I’ve been there, I’ve noticed a small group of older ladies—like the 75-85-year zone. They arrive at the same time, claim two or three tables, delicately spread clean, linen tablecloths across the tables, and they play. I haven’t yet asked what the game is, but it looks like a cross between dominoes and dungeons and dragons.

They laugh, they focus, they chat… They enjoy themselves. And they remind me that we all need groups. At every age and in every season.

Spirit Farm 2.0 will launch this fall, and we’re going to help support your group, start your group, and think about relationships differently. Stay tuned.
