Judgmental religious people quote the Apostle Paul a lot because he wrote letters that fleshed out some practical things followers of Jesus in certain cities and cultures were wrestling with. These people focus on some verses and ignore other verses—having moved beyond forbidding women to braid their hair or wear gold or pearls.

They also tend to skip the verses I’ll share with you the next few days—verses that encourage the spiritually mature among us to be generous in their dealings with less mature followers of Jesus.

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. Romans 14:13

Less judgment, more peace. Less division, more generosity in our dealings with one another. If someone needs tighter parameters in this season of their growth, bless it. If someone doesn’t adhere to your strict interpretations, trust their journey with God. I’m pretty sure God can get their attention if he want to.
