Your honest enthusiasm is what makes the thing compelling.

“Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson

My son, Jack, is big into Beyblades right now. They are the spinning toys that require you to “rip” the plastic cord and they spin on the floor or in the Beyblade stage, battling against any other Beyblade nearby. They are simple, and, on the surface, not very cool. Unless you play with Jack.

Jack’s passion and enthusiasm for Beyblades actually makes them cooler. The fact that he can jump in the air while ripping the cord and shouting, “Let it rip!” can’t help but draw you into to his little universe of playtime joy. His joy is contagious, and is passion is compelling.

I thought the toys were ridiculous, until I saw how passionate my son can be about them. Now, I play with him a few minutes everyday.

Bring passion to your work. Bring energy to your passion. Bring enthusiasm to your energy. And “Let it rip!”
