Jesus doesn’t force the goodness on us, but he gives it when we ask.

Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” John 4:10

The woman was at the well because she needed water. She went to the well most days, because water is one of those things we need all the time—for life.

So, let’s think about what you think you need for life. In other words, what’s your well? Where is the place you go alone? Or, what is it that you’re dependent upon that is keeping you from asking God for better, living water?

Jesus isn’t going to force a more fulfilling experience of life on us. He’s waiting for us to leave our cracked jug at the empty well and ask him for water that satisfies the soul.
