Take a break. Call it intermission.

Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. Genesis 2:3

Ok, so the same high school choir performance I mentioned yesterday was complete with a 15-minute intermission. The performers took a quick break to rest, change costumes, and allow their teachers to make announcements to families and friends. During those few moments, we stood up, stretched our legs, then settled back in for the duration.

A little breath goes a long way. It’s like a reset, recharging our bodies and minds to finish strong.

Breaks are built into creation.
* We take “lunch” breaks
* We rest at night as we sleep
* We rest one out of seven days
* We vacation a couple (or more) weeks of the year

Embrace the rhythms of rest and intermissions of life. We need the reset in order to restart and bring our best.
