Run, and when you feel like stopping, run 20% further.

And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. (Hebrews 12:1)

I don’t particularly like running. But I almost enjoy running hills and trails. Today, I was attempting a new hill with a steep incline. I wanted to stop almost immediately. I made myself run “just a little further.” Then, I coached my brain to believe that this terrible discomfort was actually just the feeling of growth and health in disguise. I ran further.

The top of the hill came sooner than I expected, and focusing on pain as progress actually worked.

What if we got a little more comfortable with feeling uncomfortable? Imagine where we could go.

Trust the journey… stick with the path… persevere.
