Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters… Colossians 3:23

Whatever you do! As in, it might not be your dream job… It may be temporary… It may seem beneath you… You might not be appropriately appreciated for your work.

Nevertheless, do your best… Work hard… Remember you are serving the God of Work—the Designer of all things—as you do this simple assignment.

So find your WHY.

Simon Senek talks about the “why” being more important than the “what” or “how.” More important than what you do or how it’s being done, unlock your fulfillment at work by remembering your WHY.

Why: “Because as I bring my best to this task, I’m being more of myself in the service of others. God is most honored when I’m fully alive and engaged. Knowing that I’m serving God by being me and doing my best will bring my heart to life and make any task seem more meaningful.”

The Spirit that inspired the first six days of creation work is still inspiring all our creative work today. Every simple task takes on new meaning when I realized God’s Spirit is connecting me and my efforts to the greater work God is doing all the time and everywhere.
